Joe Iroko, the man who is facing trial for naming his dog after Nigeria’s president, General Muhammadu Buhari has named his newborn daughter, Aisha.
This is presumably after the president’s wife, Aisha Buhari, and this particular name should be viewed as less offensive as it was given to a human being.
Inibehe Effiong, an All Progressives Congress-leaning activist disclosed this on his Twitter handle in a set of 8 tweets mocking the Nigerian police and suggesting that names of the President and his family members are “protected”.
Effiong was picked interest in Iroko’s case following the media attention that followed his arrest, was involved in raising money to meet his bail conditions.
