The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has listed the name of controversial billionaire businessman, Jimoh Ibrahim as the candidate for the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, in the upcoming November 10 governorship elections.
According to the list published on the electoral body’s website, Ibrahim’s name is included on the list based on a court order.
Controversial justice of the federal high court in Abuja, Okon Abang issued a court order for the name of the PDP candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, a senior advocate of Nigeria, to be replaced with Ibrahim’s.
The PDP has appealed the judgement and the Appeal Court has fixed Saturday, October 29, 2016 to hear the case.
The list was published in the evening of Thursday, October 27, 2016.
