The Supreme Court sitting in Abuja has upheld the election of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State.
The apex court on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 upheld the April 2015 governorship elections which Ikepazu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emerged the winner beating his closest rival, Alex Otti of APGA.
The Appeal Court had ruled against Ikpeazu and declared Otti winner of the elections.
On Wednesday, the Supreme Court has overruled the judgement of the Appeal Court and has declared Governor Ikpeazu the duly elected governor of Abia State.
